AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER & POLYCHROME SHADED CLOISONNE ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE,
MARK OF 6TH MOSCOW ARTEL, 1908/17,
Cover with en plein enamel scene of a man shooting a wild duck in a forest clearing, encircled by whorls & pansies in pink, blue, lilac, green & orange pastel shades, all on a very dark olive ground, in turn bordered by stylised flowers on a pale egg-shell green band, the reverse similarly decorated around a panel of flowers on deep green reserve, one flower formed from plain silver cloissons so marks can be displayed, gilt interior, 4¼ in. long (10.8 cm.).
