The composition divided into four compartments, each representing a portrait of the Mother of God, on the upper row the Troeheritsa and the "Soother of Sorrows", below the Mother of God of the "Seven Sorrows" and the Feodorovskaya, the patron saints Aleksei and Makarii on the left border and opposite, Sts. Paul and Alina, painted in the traditional manner with vivid colours, the parcel-gilt oklad and cut-out haloes with repoussé scrolls
