De forme balustre octogonale, les huit panneaux à décors alternés de rinceaux de lotus, pivoines, camélias et oeillets, le col et le pied ornés symétriquement de frises de pétales, fleurs et volutes archaïsantes, marque à six caractères incisés de l'Empereur Jiajing à la base

The unusual decoration of the current vase is very comparable to the one of a Chinese quadrangular vase, dated 15th century and illustrated by Sir H. Garner in Chinese and Japanese Cloisonné Enamels, London 1962, pl.27A-B.
