Comprising four bergères, four chaises and a canapé, each with curved back and downswept arms with terminals cast as swan heads, the shaped backs and drop-in seats covered in striped dark blue cut velvet, on square sectioned sabre legs, stamped 'JACOB FRERES RUE MESLEE', two bergères and two chaises covered differently in blue fabric

'Jacob Frères Rue Meslée' was the stamp used by Georges II (1768-1803) and François-Honoré Georges Jacob (1770-1841), sons of Georges Jacob (1739-1814, maître in 1765) between 1796 and 1803, after taking over their father's workshop.
