Inlaid overall with Chinoiserie scenes, interlaced strapwork and foliate clasps, the rectangular domed lid enclosing a kingwood-lined interior inlaid with a lozenge and stars, the curved side inlaid with maidens and foliate clasps to the corners, on later bun feet
