Lange de Bourbon (d. 1772) was awarded the title of Machiniste-Faiseur de Baromètre du Roi before 1757.
A related giltwood barometer carved with a similar ducal crown and inscribed 'Lange de Bourbon faiseur de baromètres du roy', from the collection Decourcelle, sold Paris, 29-30 May 1911, lot 226, is now conserved in the Nissim de Camondo Museum, in the Passage au salon des Huet, described in the Catalogue, Paris, 1973, p. 41, n. 180.
