A Dutch silver 'Patriotten' scent-box
Apparently unmarked, the Netherlands, circa 1790
Shaped, the reverse with tree 'meiboom', a dog 'keeshond', inscribed IK TRIUMPHEER, the sides with symbolizing figures of 'Hope', 'Justice', 'Faith' and 'Fortune', the hinged cover with the French cockerel, a bunch of arrows surmounted by an axe and a tree topped by a hat 'vrijheidshoed', inscribed Vrijheid Gelijkheid en Broederschap
