A fine dutch silver and steel knife
In the manner of Thedoor de Bry, apparently unmarked, the Netherlands, first quarter 17th century, (steel blade later)
The shaped tapering handle engraved with the symbolic figures of 'Charity' and 'Hope', the first above a vase with flowers, the second above a bird with foliage and insribed 'CHARITAS' and 'FIDES', the sides inscribed: 'ANNA VAN OYRL' and 'R:S to M.G', the openwork top with loophole (for chain) and baluster finial
