The graphic source for this figure was published by Christoph Weigel in Wahreste und neueste Abbildung des Türkischen Hofes... (Nuremberg, 1719), plate 21, which is illustrated below.
Other examples of this rare figure include the figure sold by Christie's Geneva on 7th May 1979, lot 109, and the examples formerly in the Goldblatt Collection sold as the Property of the late Sir William Younger, Bart., Sotheby's London, 21st October 1975, lot 193.
