Two Japanese ivory manju netsuke of the Rokkasen, late 19th Century
the first, and largest, the poets form a compact group, seemingly in deep thought or discussion, the reverse with a scholars table, brush pot and paper; another pierced and carved to form differently shaped panels, each showing one of the poets, signed Hakuunsai -- 1 7/8in. (4.7cm.) diam. (2)
