A large Chinese famille verte 'deer and crane' dish, Kangxi (1662-1722)
decorated with a prancing deer under a pine tree beside rockwork, bamboo and lingzhi fungus looking up at a swooping crane, the cavetto enamelled with cartouches enclosing floral sprigs reserved on a diaper ground, the rim with six crane in flight below a band with ring pattern, the undersides with two iron-red floral sprigs -- 15¼in. (38.7cm.)
