A Japanese Satsuma jar and cover, signed Ryozan, Meiji (1868-1912)
decorated in a profusion of flowerheads in typical enamels and gilt, the interior with a range of colourful butterflies fluttering, the cover similarily decorated with a large shishi ready to spring into action, its tail erect, the base signed Dai Nippon, Kyoto, Goshigaisha, Ryozan, beneath a Yasuda Company trade mark, wood stand -- 8½in. (21.6cm.) high.
