A FINE PAIR OF GEORGE II SILVER CANDLESTICKS
MARK OF JOHN JACOB, LONDON, 1738
Each shaped square base on four foliage and rocaille cast panel feet, the stem with spiral fluted base and rising to a shell and foliage knop, each side chased with alternating military and amatory trophies on a textured ground, the spool shaped sockets cast with foliage on a textured ground, one foot of each engraved with a crest and another engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked underneath
8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) high
64 oz. (2,001 gr.)
The arms are those of Sharp with another in pretence. (2)
