CIRCA 1830, ATTRIBUTED TO PELAGIO PELAGI
Each with palmette and foliate decoration, the open backs with horizontal splats, the seat upholstered à châssis in red silk, on ring-turned baluster legs joined by conforming stretchers, the seat rail with trade label inscribed 'Collezione Zabert, Torino'

These chairs appear to be very close, and possibly identical to those supplied by Pelagi for the Gabinetto Etrusco del Castello di Raconnigi (Roberto Antonetto, Minusieried Ebanisti del Piedmonte, Turin, 1985, ills p. 386.)
