The dishes each shaped oblong and with gadrooned borders, the domed covers with foliage loop handles, the part-lobed bases with foliage loop handles and on bun feet, later engraved with a coat-of-arms, the dishes each engraved with a crest, the dishes each marked on one end

the dishes 109 oz. (3,385 gr.)
The arms are those of Antrobus, for Sir Edmund Antrobus, 1st Bt. (d.1826) of Antrobus Hall, co. Chester. Sir Edmund was both a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Society of Antiquaries. He was created a baronet in 1815 with a special remainder to his nephews. He died unmarried in 1826. (4)
