Of rectangular form, the brown leather-lined hinged slope and three-quarter pierced gallery concealing an interior fitted with three drawers and three simulated drawers, with two small side drawers, one of which enclosing an inkstand (without implements), above waved supports joined by two quarter-veneered undertier platforms and terminating in upswept acanthus and scrolles sabots, stamped twice 'N.PETIT' and once 'JME' to the inner border of the compartment, lacking mounts
