A similar white blouse is worn by Hayworth in her opening scenes of Miss Sadie Thompson, when she arrives on 'American Samoa', an Island in the South Pacfic, and is greeted by the excited Marines. The winner of the blouse and the earrings in the previous lot was an avid Hayworth fan and keen to win both the competitions that she entered. For fear that the judges may recognise her name as winning the earrings from Salome and offer the prize to someone else, she applied under a pseudonym in order to win the white blouse.
