These blaster guns are used by Stormtroopers as well as the lead characters Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo, and can be seen clearly in several key sequences including the Death Star sequences and the desert sequences shot in Tunisia.

These guns were never live firing weapons and were created bespoke for the production and were heavily customized to allow the production team to take them to various shooting locations without the problems of exporting and importing live weapons. One of the most identifiable features is seen in the modification of the top of the barrel. When they were discovered in storage at the armourers where they were manufactured, all of the original components had been stripped. The gun is still in this condition and has not been restored. This is one of only 19 known original E11's of this type.
