The foliate cast waisted case on scroll feet and with plain brass back plate, the ormolu dial with engine-turned centre and engraved dot minute track, painted Roman chapters, delicate steel heart-shaped hands, the eight day movement with circular plates joined by four front-pinned tapering pillars, single chain fusee and anchor escapement, the back plate with holdfast and signed W. Payne/163 New Bond St London; steel rod pendulum with roller bar suspension
