The case of typical form, the broken arch pediment surmounted by a carved urn finial, the door and cover applied with carved ribbon tied garlands, three engraved silvered brass register plates headed by urn finials, the upper plates inscribed Fx. Franzi/Fecit Amsteldam, the thermometer plate inscribed Felix Franzi/Fecit Amsteldam (rubbing to the silvering); mercury tube and thermometer removed
