Original pictorial wrappers, the upper cover illustrating a rotund doctor with the couplet: "I feel your pulse & take your fee/To die you'r [sic] then at liberty." Provenance: title inscribed on upper cover in a contemporary hand. Osborne II, 700: "According to Hugo, some [of the woodcuts] are 'clearly by Thomas Bewick'."
