Pour une tasse et sa sous-tasse dans le même esprit à fond mauve, voir la vente, chez Christie's Londres, le 8 juillet 2002, lot 78.

Le peintre Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck a créé un monde fantastique haut en couleur, s'inspirant du bestiaire oriental peuplé de dragons, chiens de Fo, tigres ou encore oiseaux, surpassant ainsi son maître Johann Gregorius Höroldt qui causa son départ de Meissen en 1736.
