The same composition was engraved in reverse by Etienne Fessard (see P. Jean-Richard, François Boucher: gravures et dessins provenant du Cabinet des dessins et de la Collection Edmond de Rothschild au Musée du Louvre, Paris, 1978, p. 249, no. 996). The engraving carries Boucher's signature and date 1755, though it was not executed until 1759. A drawing by Boucher for this print was in the collection of the M. Sireuil, former Valet de Chambre du Roi, according to an inscription on the engraving.
