This tazza is an example of collaboration between Levillain and the higly acclaimed bronzier of the peroid, Ferdinand Barbedienne (d.1892). The foundry established in 1839, was renowned for bronze editions, but also produced decorative objects in styles that reflected the various exotic and revival trends popular at the time.
