Primarily decorated en grisaille with a couple and a child on a riverbank, she having just caught a fish with her rod, a castle in the background, a du Paquier-style band at the border

Lot Essay

This scene is possibly after a painting by Nicholas Lancret. An identical plate is illustrated by J.G. Veiga, Chinese Export Porcelain in Private Brazilian Collections, London, 1989, p. 176, pl. 148.
