Probably mark of Samuel Meriton, London, circa 1770 (date letter indistinct)
With gadrooned borders, leaf-capped handle and standing on hoof feet, with crest -- 6¼in. (16cm.); and a George III silver butter boat with scalloped border, London, 1771 -- 5in. (13cm.) -- 9oz.
