Late 18th/early 19th century
The upper section fitted with compartments of architectural arrangement, with sliding doors and balustrade columns, enclosing various drawers and secret compartments, variously signed with Chinese calligraphy, enclosed by a pair of panelled doors with re-entrant corners decorated with chinoiserie landscapes, the recessed panelled top and sides with carrying handles similarly decorated, the conforming stand with two drawers, the underside with a paper label, From Bartlett & Colling, Antique Furnishing and Fine Art Dealers. 7 West Street, Brighton.
