Lot Essay

Gillows supplied a related Pembroke table to William Powlett, 2nd Baron Bolton in 1813 for the South West Bedroom at Hackwood Park, Hampshire. It also featured the distinctive reeded leg with sunk panel at the top of the leg in the frieze. It was invoiced for £5 5s and was sold by the late 2nd Viscount Camrose, Hackwood Park, Christie's house sale 20-22 April 1998, lot 370 (£14,950).
