Lot Essay

The Huis Vredenburg was designed by the well-known Amsterdam architect Jacob van Campen (1595-1657), also responsible for the New Town Hall, later Royal Palace, on the Dam, Amsterdam. The house, owned by the Alewijn family, was demolished in 1819.
