Château Haut-Brion, Blanc--Vintage 1995
Pessac (Graves), cru classé
In six bottle original wooden cases
Tasting Note: In this vintage, the Haut-Brion blanc contained less Sémillon because Jean Delmas thought the drought had negatively impacted this varietal more than Sauvignon. Consequently, the 1995 is less grandiose in its proportions, but still one of the two best dry white Graves of the vintage. The wine possesses a light gold colour, and a citrusy, honeyed nose with subtle toasty oak. It is medium-bodied, with exquisite concentration and delineation. This beautifully pure wine can be expected to close down and not re-emerge from its dormant stage for a decade. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2025. Last tasted 11/97. Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book 3rd Edition (1998)
