A Victorian miniature engraved gilt-brass and malachite-mounted eight day carriage timepiece
Third quarter 19th Century
In the style of Thomas Cole, the case with panels of malachite to the top and sides, all set within foliate engraved frames, with foliate cast handle, the detachable rear door with spring release catch and shuttered winding hole, on tapering feet, the line-engraved dial mask also engraved with an equestrian figure and a foot soldier, the dial with florally engraved centre and painted Roman chapters, blued steel moon hands, the movement with rectangular plates joined by four front-pinned plain columns, wheels with five crossings, chain and fusee with plain steel three-arm lever balance positioned on the back plate; with gilt-tooled green leather travel case and original key
