The oak case with gilt chinoiserie design against a red ground, the caddy top surmounted by three gilt-wood finials and blind fret to the break arch, glazed side panels, with brass capitals to the inset columns, the 12 in. wide brass dial with wheat ear engraved border and foliate and mask spandrels, the engraved and silvered Roman and Arabic chapter with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, subsidiary seconds ring and date square to the matted centre with applied oval plaque signed Willm Sellers/London, blued steel hands, dolphin spandrels flanking the strike/silent chapter to the arch, the movement with five ringed pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; pendulum, two weights
