A Transitional blue and white bowl,
circa 1640
Painted with a band of five shou-character roundels divided by stylized lotus-sprays below emblems, the interior with a central circular panel containing a shou roundel amidst flower-heads (rim restoration, glaze scratches), 18.8cm. diam.; and a late Ming blue and white bowl, painted around the exterior with two cranes flying beside pine trees in a landscape, all below a band of scrolling flower-sprays, the interior with a central circular panel of a ruyi below a diaper-pattern band around the rim (minute rim chips, rim fritted, glaze scratches), Wanli, 17.8cm. diam.
