The circular tapering kettle with domed cover and fixed raffia-bound handle, the stand on three supports terminating in lion's paw feet, the triangular wind-shield with gadroon border and pierced sides, on shell feet, the Earl's crest on kettle differing from that on wind-shield, base of wind shield later engraved with a small 4-ball coronet above 'F & C'
