A fine pair of Doucai 'phoenix' dishes and a saucer,
the pair with Qianlong sealmark, the saucer inscribed Cai run tang zhi, both Qianlong
The 'phoenix' dishes with a design outlined in underglaze blue and vividly enamelled in brilliant colours with a central medallion enclosing three highly stylized phoenix circling a composite flower-head borne on leafy stems, the exterior similarly decorated with a frieze of further phoenix amid flowers above a narrow 'C'-scroll and dot border encircling the foot (one with rim crack, frittings), 19cm. diam.; and a doucai lanca saucer, a central chrysanthemum-head encircled by an interlinked scroll motif with Iznik-style floral stems and divided by lanca characters, the rim encircled by further lanca characters, the reverse with iron-red bats (rim crack), 16cm. diam.
