Domaine de Chevalier--Vintage 1989
Pessac-Léognan, cru classé In original wooden case
"The dark ruby-colored 1989 is a plump, forward style of Domaine de Chevalier. The wine displays smoky toasty oak that is better integrated than in more recent vintages. A smoky, herb-tinged, sweet cherry and black currant-scented nose is followed by a medium-bodied wine with low acidity, ripe, fleshy fruit, moderate tannin, and a nice finish. The 1989 is less evolved than the 1990. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2010. Last tasted 10/97" Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition # B1 Jan 1998
