A large Kutani baluster jar and cover,
Meiji period, signed in iron-red Joshuntei Saiho zo
Decorated predominantly in iron-red, coloured enamels and gilt with a panel containing a couple seated in a barge half covered by a boat house on one side, on the opposite side a man and boy seated on a riverbank, reserved on an iron-red ground with feathery foliage and variously shaped smaller panels of landscapes and flowers, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a karashishi finial (damages and repair)
