Tasting Note: The 1997 Barolo Vigna Enrico VI (a cuvée that sees 50 new barriques rather than the 100 for the Bricco Gattera and 33 for the Monfalletto) is complex and intense. The wine's dense ruby/purple colour is followed by classic aromas of road tar, rose petals, leather, cedar, and black fruits. Full-bodied, dense, chewy, and powerful, with good underlying acidity as well as sweet tannin, this classic should age well for 2+ decades. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020.
