Related to one of the most famous producers in Tuscany of Sassicaia fame, this branch of the family is beginning to forge a similar reputation in Piedmont as one of the oldest and most respected families from Piedmont. The estate is located in the Monferrato Hills surrounding Rocchetta Tanaro. Their vineyards are cultivated with the highest respect for the environment. Each grapevine yields limited quantities, ensuring maximum quality. This process is further enhanced by selectively hand-picking the grapes during harvest. For centuries the wine making was carried out in the cellars of the family castle. It has since been moved to "La Corte Chiusa", an old and beautifully restored family estate located in the historical center of the village. In collaboration with Dr. Donato Lanati, the brilliant and highly respected Piedmontese oenologist, each phase of the production is carefully controlled to ensure the highest quality. Their Sant 'Emiliano Barbera d'Asti Superiore is made from 100 Barbera grapes grown in the vineyard named after the centuries old S.Emiliano chapel which still stands there to this day. Highlights in the sale include Sant 'Emiliano Barbera d'Asti Superiore from 1997, 2000, 2003 and also magnums from the 2004 vintage
