Worked in relief with apsaras flying amongst gilt and silver clouds; interior gilded and distressed into red bole underlayer

With wood box inscribed Chokin saiun hiten tetsukaki (gilt and polychrome clouds and apsaras iron flower basin) and signed on underside of lid Kashima Ikkoku shiki

Lot Essay

Kashima Ikkoku was awarded a prize for his metalwork at the 9th annual Teiten Imperial Art Exhibition in 1928.
