Two Kyo-Shoami Tsuba, A Yoshioka School Tsuba and A Sentoku Tsuba
Edo period (19th century)
The first, copper oval plate carved on the surface with Amida yasuri file marks and decorated with paulownia in shakudo and gold taka-zogan, shakudo rim and plugs; the second, oval copper plate carved on the ground in a weave pattern with a pine-bark family crest around the seppa-dai and decorated with a flower basket, plum branches and birds in taka-bori and gold and silver taka-zogan, raised rim and hitsu-ana plugged in shakudo; the third, oval silver plate carved in relief with a design of chrysanthemums; the fourth, sentoku sukashi tsuba carved in the round with crashing waves, dots of foam rendered in silver inlays
