Provenance: Gerald Fairlie (signature on front free endpaper). McIlvaine A12(2). Fairlie (1899-1983) was an English novelist and screenwriter who is now best-remembered for the seven 'Bulldog Drummond' novels he wrote following the death of the character's creator, H.C. 'Sapper' McNeile. Fairlie first met Wodehouse in Hollywood in 1931 and they continued to correspond until the latter's death in 1975.
