The style of painting on this shallow dish is unusual, but can be seen on two Tang shallow dishes with similar amber, cream and cobalt decoration, which are in the Tokyo National Museum. See Sekai toji zenshu, vol. 11, Sui and T'ang Dynasties, Tokyo, 1976, p. 218, nos. 216 and 217.
