FIRST AMERICAN EDITION IN BOOK FORM, following serial publication in New World and Brother Jonathan double-issue editions. The book was issued with amazing speed: it arrived from England on November 6th and was ready by Harpers on November 8th. The New World was ready at about 2 pm and the Brother Jonathan at about 4 pm on November 7th. The ads at the back of this Harper edition are dated November 2nd. See Peter S.
