25 volumes, including original steel-engraved plate in cloth folding box and the Nonesuch Dickensiana, large 8o (255 x 160 mm). Engraved title vignettes and plates, facsimile wrappers from the original parts. Original buckram, each volume in a different color, black morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut (a few spines slightly faded, folding box split at corners). Provenance: Kenyon Starling (bookplate).

THE NONESUCH DICKENS. LIMITED EDITION, one of 877 copies. The original steel plate by Hablot K. Browne ("Phiz"), set into a uniform cloth box with a letter of authenticity signed by the Deputy Chairman of Chapman & Hall, is titled "Mr. Varden and the mob" (from Barnaby Rudge). (25)
