For a similar example of a purple-ground gauze robe, see Zhongguo meishu quanji: gongyi meishu bian, vol. 7, Beijing, 1987, p. 108, no. 92. The embroidered floral sprays and butterflies closely relate to those found on the current robe, both in style and configuration.
