A RARE PAIR OF EMBROIDERED TEMPLE BANNERS

Each composed of a central yellow panel suspending two navy blue silk satin streamers with pointed ends, stitched together and flanked by two outer streamers of rust silk, each component finely worked in satin stitch with various blossoming sprays of flowers and fruit, including finger citrus, the central yellow panel with archaistic scroll design interlaced with blossoming peonies, all mounted at the top with a cloud-shaped capital with blue and gold brocade border enclosing a yellow silk brocade decorated with flowers
