A PAIR OF MEISSEN KAKIEMON FLARED BEAKER-VASES
CIRCA 1725, BLUE KITE MARKS
Each with a flared upper part, swelling central section and slightly flared lower part, painted by J.E. Stadler, each section with a continuous band of flowering plants issuing from rockwork, striped fences and birds and insects in flight divided by underglaze blue lines, the flared rims with an underglaze blue band of flowerheads and foliage enriched in gilding (one with restored crack to rim and minute chip to underside)

Similar vases from the Royal Collection, Dresden, were sold by Rudolph Lepke, Berlin, on 7th October 1919, lot 219 (pl. 14).
