A MEISSEN AUGUSTUS REX FLARED CHINOISERIE PEACH-GROUND BEAKER-VASE
CIRCA 1730, BLUE AR. MONOGRAM MARK
Painted by P.E. Schindler, each side with a slender ogival reserve, one with a standing Oriental feeding birds, before a tall table with a steaming vase flanked by two bulbous pots, on a grassy terrace with flowering plants, the other with a seated Oriental lady taking tea beside a table and a long pole, on a grassy terrace with flowering plants and a young tree, birds and insects in flight above, both reserves with broad gilt scroll and line borders with green, blue and iron-red half flowerheads, the flared rim with a band of diaper Gitterwerk (some minor flaking to blue enamel, slight scratch to gilt footrim)
