CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, THE MOUNTS CONTEMPORARY
Of pilgrim flask form, the body painted with a continuous harbour scene with merchants at discussion and various pursuits by barrels and packages before distant ships and buildings on islands and rocky outcrops, the sides moulded with Frauenkopf masks enriched in Böttger-lustre, the gadrooned lower part richly gilt, the gilt-gadrooned oval socle foot with a band of Böttger-lustre, the fluted neck enriched in gilding, the threaded mount with a ring, the domed gilt-metal cover with a ring (slight wear to gilding and lustre at extremities, chain lacking from mounts)
